# Dubai Courts notary public fees: how much a notary costs in Dubai, document by document

Dubai Courts notary public fees are set per act, not per visit: a fee per party for a power of attorney, a fee per party or per signature for a signature authentication, a flat fee for an affidavit. Which figure applies depends on the route, because Dubai has its own notary law and its own fee decision for private notaries, while the federal schedule covers the emirates on the federal system.

How we price

All service prices are starting prices and are negotiable. Government fees are paid on top, at cost, exactly as the authority charges them. We confirm your final price before you pay.

At a glance

This page lists the official fee for each document our clients bring to the notary, names the rule behind it, and sets our own service price beside it. The official fee is paid at cost. Our service price is what we charge to draft, translate, book and follow the document through. NotaryPublicInDubai.com never presents a service price as an official fee.

Federal schedule (Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024): POA AED 100 per party, signature authentication AED 200 per party, affidavit AED 300, translation notarised with the instrument AED 50 per page.

A private notary on the federal schedule adds 30 percent as professional fees (Article 2), so a POA is AED 130 per party.

Dubai private notary fees (Dubai Courts decision): AED 100 per party for registration, AED 100 per signature, AED 1,000 per trip outside the office.

MOFAIC attestation, if the document goes abroad: AED 150 for a personal document, AED 2,000 for a commercial one.

Our service prices start from AED 600 for an affidavit and AED 1,500 for a POA.

## Which fee system applies to you

### The Dubai Courts notary public.

The government notary under Dubai Courts. Dubai Courts pages give different figures for the POA fee, so we confirm the current amount when you book.

### A Dubai private notary.

A lawyer registered on the Dubai Courts roll. A Dubai Courts decision on private notary fees, published in the Official Gazette of the Government of Dubai, sets AED 100 per party for registration plus AED 100 per signature, and AED 1,000 per trip outside the notary's office.

### The federal schedule.

Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024 sets fees for public and private notaries under the federal notary law. Dubai's notaries are governed by Dubai's own law, so treat the federal figures as the benchmark rather than the Dubai price, unless your notary is on the federal system.

## After the notary: attestation fees

If the notarised document will be used outside the UAE, or a foreign document is used here, MOFAIC attestation usually follows. MOFAIC charges AED 150 for individual affairs documents and AED 2,000 for commercial documents. A POA of personal nature is on the individual list; a POA of commercial nature and a general POA are on the commercial list. That is a large difference, so we tell you which list your document falls in before you commit.

The UAE is not a party to the Apostille Convention. Foreign documents follow the attestation chain: the issuing country's foreign ministry, the UAE embassy there, then MOFAIC.

In short

## How much does it cost to get an affidavit notarized?

Under the federal schedule, executing and notarising an affidavit is AED 300. Our service to draft it, prepare the Arabic and have it notarised by our in-house notary public starts from AED 600, with the government fee on top at cost. If the affidavit goes abroad, add the MOFAIC fee for a personal document, AED 150.

## Can you notarize for free?

In a few cases the official fee is zero. The Dubai Land Department publishes its POA cancellation notarisation as a free service. Under Article 4(3) of Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024, federal and local government agencies are exempt from the federal notary fees, though companies they own are not. For an individual, the fee schedules above have no free route for an ordinary POA, affidavit or signature authentication. The Ministry of Justice digital POA service saves the visit; the government fee is currently AED 100 as published by the Ministry of Justice, paid at cost.

## Dubai court fees for a case are a different bill

Many people who look up Dubai court fees mean a lawsuit, not a notary visit. Filing a case, appealing and enforcing a judgment each carry judicial fees that Dubai Courts charges under their own rules. Those fees are not notary fees, they are not in the tables on this page, and they are not part of our price. Your lawyer, or the fee information Dubai Courts gives litigants, tells you the amount for your case. The part we prepare comes before the filing: the [special power of attorney for a court case](https://notarypublicindubai.com/power-of-attorney/court-case/) that lets your lawyer act for you, and the [Arabic translation of documents](https://notarypublicindubai.com/dubai-courts/legal-translation/) that go into the court file.

## How to read any notary quote

* Ask for two lines: the official fee, with the rule it comes from, and the service price.
* Check the count of parties and signatures, since both drive the official fee.
* Check whether translation is included and how many pages it covers.
* Check whether attestation is included, and which MOFAIC list applies.
* Be careful with any quote that calls its whole price an "official fee" or a "Dubai Courts fee".

## How we price your document

Tell us the document, the number of people signing, the page count and where it will be used. We reply with the official fee under the rule that applies, our service price, and any add-on, each on its own line. The price is confirmed before you pay. Questions about fees

## Questions about notary fees in Dubai

### How much will the notary itself charge in Dubai?

It depends on the document. Under the federal schedule, a POA is AED 100 per party, a signature authentication AED 200 per party and an affidavit AED 300. The Dubai private notary route charges AED 100 per party for registration plus AED 100 per signature.

### What does it cost to notarize a document in the UAE outside Dubai?

In the emirates on the federal system, the federal schedule applies. Abu Dhabi has its own judicial department. ADJD publishes its own fees in its notary service manual, for example AED 100 for each year a power of attorney runs and AED 500 for a signature authorisation.

### Are notary charges in Dubai the same at every notary?

The official fee for the same act on the same route is the same. What differs is the service price of whoever prepares your document.

### Are notary attestation fees the same as notary fees?

No. The notary fee is for the notarial act. Attestation by MOFAIC is a separate step with its own fee: AED 150 personal, AED 2,000 commercial.

### Do I pay your service price and the government fee separately?

We show them as separate lines. The government fee is passed on at cost, exactly as the authority charges it.
