Wafi Mall notary public: a visit guide to the Dubai Courts notary and its centres
The public notary at Wafi Mall is one of the Dubai Courts service centres where you can have a power of attorney attested or a signature authenticated in person. It is not the only one: Dubai Courts also works through other centres, through private notaries on its roll, and through virtual attendance. Which one you use matters less than arriving with a document the notary can accept.
This guide is written by NotaryPublicInDubai.com, a notary services company in Business Bay. It explains what the Dubai Courts notary does at a centre such as Wafi Mall, how to pick the right channel, what to bring for each kind of document, and how to prepare your paperwork so one visit is enough. For the court's official phone, email and chat, see our Dubai Courts contact guide.

What the Dubai Courts notary does at a centre
At the counter, the notary's job is narrow and exact. The notary confirms who you are, confirms that you have the capacity to sign and that you agree to the document, and then attests it. The notary does not write your document, advise you on its contents or decide a dispute between you and someone else.
The two things most people bring to the Wafi Mall notary are:
- A power of attorney. Dubai Courts organises its POA service by subject, such as property, vehicle, companies and institutions, inheritance, marriage, divorce, establishments and trademarks, and asks for a supporting document that matches: a title deed, a vehicle ownership certificate, a trademark certificate.
- A signature to authenticate. A declaration, a consent or a form written by someone else that needs the notary to confirm the signature is yours.
Choosing a centre or a channel
People search for "public notary Wafi Mall" or "wafi mall notary" because the name is familiar, but the right choice depends on your situation.
| Situation | Channel to consider |
|---|---|
| You live or work near Wafi Mall and your document is ready | The Wafi Mall centre, in person |
| You are nearer Al Barsha or out towards Hatta | The Al Barsha or Hatta centre on the Dubai Courts list |
| You want a set appointment time, or need the notary to come to you | A private notary on the Dubai Courts roll; a trip outside the notary's office carries a fee of AED 1,000 under the Dubai private notary fee decision |
| You cannot attend in person | Dubai Courts virtual attendance, or the Ministry of Justice E-Notary System under the federal system; see our online notarisation guide |
| Your matter is inside the DIFC | DIFC Courts' own notary service, not Wafi Mall |
Whichever you choose, the paperwork is the same. The Dubai Courts wafi mall centre is a counter, not a drafting office.
Step by step
Before your visit: prepare the document
Most second visits happen because the document was not ready. Settle these before you go:

The wording.
For a POA, list every act the agent will do. Under Article 871 of the Civil Transactions Law, a general POA written in general terms only covers acts of management. Selling, settling or pleading need a special POA naming the act (Article 870).
The Arabic.
Dubai Courts asks for documents translated into Arabic by a legal translator approved by the UAE Ministry of Justice. An English only document is not enough.
The names.
Every name spelled exactly as on the passport or Emirates ID, in the same order.
The supporting document.
The title deed, the vehicle ownership certificate, the trade licence, whatever the subject needs.
The other party's details.
For a POA, the agent's Emirates ID number, or a copy of their Emirates ID or passport.
Foreign papers.
Anything issued abroad needs attestation in the issuing country, by the UAE embassy there and by MOFAIC in the UAE. The UAE is not a party to the Apostille Convention, so an apostille alone will not do.
Checklist
What to bring to the Wafi Mall public notary
What to bring to the Wafi Mall public notary
- Your passport (the original), plus your Emirates ID if you hold UAE residency.
- The final document, in Arabic or bilingual, unsigned.
- Scans of everything as PDF: Dubai Courts' service conditions ask for soft copies in PDF format.
- The supporting document for the subject of the POA.
- The agent's or other party's ID details.
- A means to pay the fee.

At the centre
When you reach the counter, the notary or the staff check your file, confirm your identity, and ask you to confirm the document. For a POA, the notary makes sure you understand what you are giving. If everything matches, the document is attested and you receive the attested copy or a reference to download it.
If the notary finds a problem, the usual ones are a name mismatch, a missing Arabic translation, a POA that is too general for the act, or a foreign document without attestation. Each of these is fixed before the visit, not at the counter.
In short
Timings and contact number
We do not publish notary public Wafi Mall timings or a Wafi Mall notary public contact number here, because centre hours can change and a stale number sends people to the wrong place. Take both from the Dubai Courts website or its call center on the day.

Fees at the centre
Dubai Courts pages give different figures for the POA fee, so we confirm the current amount when you book. On the Dubai private notary route, a Dubai Courts decision sets AED 100 per party for registration plus AED 100 per signature. Our Dubai Courts notary fees page lists the fee for each document.
What we prepare before you go
We prepare the file so the Wafi Mall notary, or any other Dubai Courts centre, has nothing to send back. We draft the POA or declaration, have the Arabic done by a legal translator registered with the Ministry of Justice, check every name against your ID, prepare the PDFs and tell you which centre or channel suits you. If you would rather not queue, our in-house notary public in Business Bay can notarise it instead, in person, online or at a home visit, 24/7. Preparing a POA with us starts from AED 1,500, and a declaration from AED 600, with government fees on top at cost. All service prices are starting prices and are negotiable. Government fees are paid on top, at cost, exactly as the authority charges them. We confirm your final price before you pay.
Questions
Questions about the Wafi Mall notary
Is there a Dubai Courts notary at Wafi Mall?
Dubai Courts listed Wafi Mall among its service centres on its notary service page in 2023. Check the current list on the Dubai Courts website before you go.
Do I need an appointment for the Wafi Mall public notary?
That depends on the current Dubai Courts rules for the centre. A private notary on the Dubai Courts roll works by appointment.
Can the notary at Wafi Mall translate my document?
The notary attests the document; the translation must be ready before you go. Dubai Courts asks for an Arabic translation by a legal translator approved by the Ministry of Justice.
Can someone else go to the Wafi notary for me?
Only with a power of attorney that gives them that act. For a new POA, the principal must attend or use virtual attendance, because the notary confirms the principal's own identity and consent.
Is the Wafi Mall court a place to follow up my case?
People sometimes call it the Wafi Mall court, but it is a Dubai Courts service centre for notary work. Court cases themselves are handled by Dubai Courts' courts, not at the notary centre. For case questions, use the Dubai Courts contact channels.
