A medical power of attorney in the UAE is a POA that lets someone you trust handle your hospital and medical paperwork when you cannot. What a medical POA can cover
These are paperwork tasks you can write into the document:

Name the hospital or clinic, the insurer and the policy number where you can. A general POA that says "medical matters" gives an office little to work with.
What the hospital decides
Consent to treatment is a medical and legal matter that sits with the hospital and the health rules that apply to it. A notarised POA does not, on its own, force a hospital to take an agent's decision on care. Some hospitals want their own form. Ask before you sign, and we fit the POA to what they say.

Can a POA let my agent decide on my treatment?
This page cannot say. Treatment consent is decided by the hospital and health rules. Ask the hospital before you sign.
Can my agent pay my hospital bills?
Yes, if paying bills is written into the POA, and you can add a top amount.
Can my agent make insurance claims?
Yes, when you name claims and the insurer in the POA.
Does the hospital have to accept my POA?
No. The hospital decides what it accepts. Ask what it needs first.
Can I make one while I am in hospital?
